Tomorrow's Independent and i will run special print editions in aid of Sport Relief, edited by the actor and writer David Walliams.

His plans involve a galaxy of stars including Eddie Izzard, Usain Bolt, Bill Gates, Simon Cowell, Helen Skelton, Thierry Henry, Lara Stone, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, David Baddiel, Alan Carr and Richard Curtis.

Walliams has been a tireless supporter of Sport Relief for several years. Having swum the English Channel and the Thames to support the cause, he is undaunted by the challenge of editing two national newspapers.

Chris Blackhurst, the editor of The Independent, said: "I'm happy to give up my seat to David. From football and fashion to celebrities and the arts, there is something for everyone in this very special issue.

Stefano Hatfield, executive editor of i, said: "David has been an extremely hands-on editor who has gone about the job with a lot of passion and commitment."

Proceeds from The Independent print edition's sale will go to Sport Relief.
