Talk of the Trade: When in Rome

SPOTTED in Rome last week at the Eurovision film and television conference: Richard Dunn, head of Thames Television, fixing up a dinner with Silvio Berlusconi's advisers. Presumably in the hope of their helping to finance the cost of setting up the proposed new UK Channel 5, for which Thames, stripped of its ITV franchise, is the sole bidder.
