The final text messages sent between former lovers before they split up have been revealed on a blog dedicated to chronicling people's last spoken or written words.

The Last Message Received is a Tumblr blog that publishes anonymous submissions received by other netizens.

The texts sent and received by people who had just split up showed a full range of human emotion – from the heartbreaking, to the rude to the downright cold, and even some that were abusive.

The person who submitted the screenshot above included this caption: "My best friend, my everything, my partner, my soulmate of 12 years died of an overdose the night of August 24. At around 11 pm that night, I felt a wave of sadness wash over me out of nowhere. I highly suspect this is when he died. The last text conversation we had was about how much I work.

I got the call at 11 am the next day, August 25. "
