Cherie Blair is present a Channel 4 film on the challenges faced by Christianity.

The wife of the former Prime Minister is taking part in a series exploring alternative views on Christianity.

Others fronting the documentaries include Michael Portillo, Ann Widdecombe and Rageh Omaar.

The barrister previously chaired a Channel 4 inquiry to try to find ways of cutting gun and knife crime.

In the new film, she will look at the challenges facing Christianity from war, genocide and revolutionary social change and ask whether it has a real future as a world religion.

Executive producer Jeremy Dear said: "Whether you're a believer or not, the fact is that modern, secular Britain remains bound by Christianity's formative influence on our culture and society."
