One of The Independent on Sunday's apprentices, Sean Quinney, 47, from Warwickshire, gives his verdict on week nine of Sir Alan Sugar's reality TV show. The teams had to pick products and sell them on a shopping channel. Sir Alan fired 24-year-old Howard Ebison, from Derby.

"It is really starting to get exciting now. It is hard to predict who will win; I like James [McQuillan] but don't think he has it in him. Kate [Walsh] might just do it. James might have a career as a stand-up comedian after his performance on the shopping channel. Howard was never going to win it because he didn't have that killer instinct. It is getting very unpredictable, but Sir Alan knows enough now, he knows what they are all like."
