Murder bid charge

A 62-year-old man appeared before magistrates in Guildford, Surrey, charged with attempting to murder another man in his home by shooting him with an antique .22 rifle. Hans Potter, of Horsham Road, Holmbury St Mary, Guildford, Surrey, was remanded in custody until 30 April.
