Drugs test unit decimated by cuts
A Cambridge research unit will have its investigations into hereditary diseases and safer drugs decimated by government cuts. Ten per cent of staff are to lose their jobs, despite protests from the scientists. Dr Richard Dwyer, director of the Babraham Institute, said: "If you go on cutting the same cake into ever-thinner slices, all you get is crumbs."
