Blood chiefs criticised over blunder
The National Blood Authority said it was confident it could replenish the 15 per cent of stocks it had to destroy because of a fault in Australian- made blood bags. Critics attacked the authority for rushing through approval of the bags in order to inject private competition into the service and cut costs.
