An eight-year-old boy injured when an Army truck rolled down a grass slope into spectators at a hot-air balloon festival has died in hospital. The youngster, who has not been named at the request of his parents, died at 5.50am yesterday at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he was being treated for serious chest and abdominal injuries.

Police say the boy was among seven spectators taken to hospital yesterday after the four-tonne Army vehicle, from C company of the 7th Anglian Territorial Army Regiment, collided with them at Northampton Racecourse.
