A teenage girl whose mother gave evidence to the Dunblane inquiry has disappeared from home. Vicky Haggar, 15, wrote to Lord Cullen to say she had been suffering from depression and having nightmares since the primary school massacre in which 16 pupils and their teacher were shot dead by Thomas Hamilton.

In a poem left outside her home in Aberdeen before she vanished on Saturday, Vicky said she was "trapped in a private hell". Doreen Haggar said yesterday that she was "frantic with worry" about her daughter who, she claims, was taking drugs and mixing with a bad crowd. "She seems to have cracked up and she is contemplating suicide, that's what it looks like to me," Mrs Haggar said.
