50 Cent might want to start acting as bankrupt as he claims to be in court.

A Connecticut judge has reprimanded him for bringing his phone into a courthouse, weeks after posting photos of himself with what appears to be wads of dollar bills tucked in his belt on social media.

The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, has posted a number of pictures of himself posing with cash after filing for bankruptcy, including one of piles of dollar bills spelling out the word “broke”.

In March, lawyers for 50 Cent insisted the cash was fake and part of a marketing promotion.

50 Cent appeared in court on Wednesday where he was addressed by the judge, the New York Daily News reports.

“While you're in this courthouse, there is nothing funny going on. This is very serious stuff. I would appreciate it very much if we could keep it that way," Judge Ann Nevins was quoted as saying.

“You should all have been advised that there are no electronic devices in this courtroom and that has been extended to conference rooms.

“I’m not telling anybody how they can exercise their rights to free speech, but I want to keep things very serious here.”

50 Cent filed for bankruptcy last July, days after a jury ordered him to pay $5million to a woman who accused him of posting a sex tape of her online. He was eventually ordered to pay her an additional $2m.
