The Lantern Trust is concerned with the education of nurses and other health-care professionals working in areas of loss, bereavement, palliative care, HIV and Aids. Its courses, such as 'Death and Dying', 'Positive Care for People with Aids', 'Understanding Personal Loss', are held regularly in London for nurses, social workers, health educators, residential care staff, probation officers prison staff, clergy and volunteers. The trust has just opened an Education Centre in east London to meet the needs of students from all parts of the world, particularly from those countries with few resources and a high incidence of Aids.
