Conrad Hilton, the younger brother of reality TV star Paris Hilton, has been arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order.

Police said Hilton was arrested at his ex-girlfriend’s Hollywood Hills home after she called police to report he was trying to gain access to her property.

Hilton, the great-grandson of hotel magnate Conrad Hilton, was taken in to custody without incident and later released on a $5,000 (£3,170) bail.

He is currently under a restraining order that prevents him both from contacting his ex-girlfriend and any members of her family.

The incident comes just one month after Hilton was sentenced to 70 hours of community service and a $5,000 fine in addition to treatment for mental health and substance abuse, for his “drug fuelled” rant on a British Airways flight earlier this year.

Hilton pleaded guilty to one count of single assault after he threatened to kill the flight’s crew on the 10 hour journey, while he reportedly called other passengers “peasants”.
