SANDRINGHAM

20 January: The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Baroness Trumpington (Baroness in Waiting) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Lives of Sir Maurice Dorman (formerly Governor-General of Malta) and Lady Dorman which was held in St Paul's Cathedral this afternoon.

The Prince Edward was represented by Lieutenant-Colonel Sean O'Dwyer.

Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Simon Bland.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by the Lord Carrington KG.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

20 January: The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The King's Royal Hussars, this afternoon attended a Luncheon to meet Past Colonels of the Regiment and Commanding Officers of the Predecessor Regiments at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1.

Mrs Timothy Holderness- Roddam was in attendance.

Her Royal Highness later received The Duchess of Badajoz at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, President of the Patrons, Crime Concern, this evening addressed the 'Corporate Action on Crime' Reception at the Royal Aeronautical Society, 4 Hamilton Place, London W1.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

20 January: The Prince of Wales this afternoon gave a Reception and Luncheon to mark the launch of The Prince of Wales's Business and the Environment Programme at St James's Palace.

His Royal Highness later attended the Service of Thanksgiving for the Lives of Sir Maurice and Lady Dorman which was held in St Paul's Cathedral.

KENSINGTON PALACE

20 January: The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, Order of St John, this morning received Mrs Andrew Stewart-Roberts on relinquishing the appointment of Superintendent-in-Chief of St John Ambulance and Mrs Thomas Scott on assuming the appointment.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Duchess of Gloucester visits Alice House, Voluntary Services Centre, Solihull; opens Warren Pearl Marie Curie Day Centre, Solihull; and opens a new boarding house at Old Swinford Hospital School, Stourbridge, West Midlands.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts at Windsor Castle open between 10am and 4pm, and the State Apartments between 10.30am and 3pm.
