18 January: The Duke of York this morning visited Cottesmore St Mary's Roman Catholic Primary School, Hove, and was received by Mr Timothy Jones (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex).

Captain Neil Blair RN and Mr Geoffrey Crawford were in attendance.

18 January: The Princess Royal, Patron, Spinal Injuries Association, this evening participated in the UK Oil and Gas Industry Quiz Evening, Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London W1.

YORK HOUSE

18 January: The Duchess of Kent this morning visited Lane Cottage Community Home for Children, Green Lane, Walton on the Naze, Essex, and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Essex (The Lord Braybrooke).

Her Royal Highness later visited Acorn Village, Clacton Road, Manningtree, and this afternoon opened the Lordship Science Centre at Writtle Agricultural College, Chelmsford, Essex.

The Duchess of Kent, Patron, the Epilepsy Research Foundation, this evening attended a dinner at the House of Lords, Westminster, London SW1.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Princess Royal presents the awards at the Annual FEI Land Rover World Three Day Event Rider Ranking Luncheon, Royal Horse Artillery Barracks, London NW8; and as President, British Knitting and Clothing Export Council, attends the British Apparel Export Awards, Royal Lancaster Hotel, London W2. Princess Alexandra, Patron, visits the offices of the Alzheimer's Disease Society at 10 Greencoat Place, London SW1. Prince Michael of Kent, Commonwealth President, Royal Life Saving Society, visits Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney in Australia.
