30 October: By command of The Queen, the Viscount Goschen (Lord- in-Waiting) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this morning upon the Departure of the President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and Mrs Jagan and bade farewell to His Excellency and Mrs Jagan on behalf of Her Majesty.

31 October: Mr Terence Gardiner was received by The Queen when Her Majesty decorated him with the Royal Victorian Medal (Silver).

30 October: The Prince of Wales this evening attended a Performance of The Barber of Seville and a Dinner in aid of Mencap and Corda at Chequers, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire.

Miss Belinda Harley was in attendance.

YORK HOUSE

30 October: The Duke of Kent, Vice- Chairman, the British Overseas Trade Board, today arrived at London Heathrow from Singapore and Malaysia.

Commander Roger Walker RN was in attendance.

THATCHED HOUSE LODGE

31 October: Princess Alexandra, accompanied by the Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy and attended by the Lady Nicholas Gordon-Lennox, this afternoon left Heathrow Airport, London, to carry out official engagements in New York.

On arrival at the Airport, Her Royal Highness was received by Miss Ann Swift (Consul-General of the United States of America), Sir Derek Dodson (Special Representative of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs), Mr Michael Street (Head of Service Delivery, British Airways plc) and Mr Robin Baxendale (Manager Special Facilities, Heathrow Airport Limited).

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Prince of Wales, Cornwall Crafts Association, receives members of the association. The Princess of Wales, Patron, Help the Aged, attends the Help the Aged Tunstall Golden Awards, at the London Hilton Hotel, London W1; and as Patron, Chicken Shed Theatre Company, attends a gala concert at the Equinox, London WC2. The Princess Royal, Upper Warden, the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, attends a Court Meeting and Livery Dinner, Saddlers' Hall, London EC2. The Duke of Gloucester attends a luncheon at the White Hart Hotel, Bailgate; visits Willson's Cottages, Newport, Lincoln, to mark the 40th anniversary of Lincoln Civic Trust; visits Lincoln Cathedral; and as President, East Midland Tourist Board, visits the offices at Exchequergate, Lincoln. The Duke of Kent, Honorary Patron, the European Community Baroque Orchestra, attends a concert at Kensington Palace. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent attend a gala concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Festival Hall, London SE1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Scots Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts at Windsor Castle open between 10.30am and 4pm.
