Dick Van Dyke's 90th Birthday Flash Mob

How do fans of America’s best loved mockney chimney sweep wish him a Happy Birthday? Of course, with a modern flash mob.

Van Dyke, who turned 90 over the weekend, was treated to a rousing chorus of some his most famous songs at The Grove in his native Los Angeles.

About 50 dancers, the majority in fancy dress, sang some of his most famous hits including Chim Chim Cher-ee, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Step In Time.

The video also shows the Mary Poppins star conducting the crowds and joins the performers for a rendition of Let’s Go Fly A Kite.

“I am very grateful that at 90 years old, I can still go out and play,” Van Dyke wrote on Twitter.

There are a host of complementary remarks in the comments section on YouTube.

Carl Hubscher posted: "I want his energy, vigor, and happiness at 90 years young. Happy Birthday Sir!!"

Chapman Bragg Chester wrote: "Happy Birthday Mr. Van Dyke, thank you for being a part of so many people's lives. :)"
