It simply wouldn't be a Hollywood awards ceremony without a photobomb from Mr Sherlock Holmes himself.

That's right, Benedict Cumberbatch was back on energetic jumping form at the Golden Globes tonight - repeating his famed U2 picture from last year's Oscars. Remember that classic?

The British star of The Imitation Game made a leap for photographic and social media fame when he threw himself into a snap of actresses Meryl Streep and (a disguised) Margaret Cho, taken by Birdman's Michael Keaton on his iPhone.

Cho was dressed as a North Korean reporter in a nod to her role as a North Korean weatherman on 30 Rock - particularly relevant in the wake of the Sony Pictures hack.

Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler referenced the cyber attack in their opening monologue.

"Good evening and welcome you bunch of despicable, spoilt, minimally-talented brats," said Fey, referencing the leaked Sony emails about Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie.

"Tonight we celebrate all the great television shows we know and love as well as the movies that North Korea was okay with. North Korea threatened an attack if Sony Pictures released the interview forcing us all to pretend we wanted to see it."
