Gordon Ramsay’s wife has suffered a miscarriage after a five-month pregnancy while expecting their fifth child.

The 49-year-old celebrity chef revealed the news in a post on his Facebook page on Monday afternoon.

Gordon said his family were healing together and thanked people for the support he had received.

“Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks,” he wrote. “We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months.”

A month ago, the couple announced they were expecting their fifth child on The Late Show with James Corden.

Tana was a Montessori-trained former schoolteacher but is now a cookery author and a TV broadcaster. She met Gordon when she was 18 and the pair married in 1996. They have four children together; daughters Megan, 17, and Matilda, 14, and fraternal twins Jack and Holly who are 16.
