Jamie Foxx has been roundly criticised on social media after a joke about Bruce Jenner, who is reportedly transitioning to a woman.

The comedian and actor, perhaps best known for his 2004 awarding winning performance as Ray Charles, was presenting the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Saturday night when he made the remarks.

“We got Bruce Jenner, who will be here doing some musical performances,” Foxx told the audience. “He’s doing a his-and-her duet all by himself.”

A video from the evening shows that although some members of the audience laugh and continue clapping, shots show most viewers shaking their heads at his remarks.

Foxx, 47, then goes on to say: “Look, I’m just busting your balls while I still can.”

Jenner, 65, a gold winning Olympic athlete now better known for his appearances on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, is reportedly transitioning into a woman.

These reports – circulating for months – have not been confirmed by any figure representing Jenner, and neither has any member of the hardly publicity-shy Kardashian clan made any direct statement towards the rumours.

On social media the backlash against Foxx’s remarks was swift and eviscerating.
