A sex tape allegedly featuring Jennifer Lawrence performing a sex act has been branded ‘fake’ by 4Chan users – the online forum where it was allegedly first posted.
The hacker – who had previously said he or she would be accepting money for the video through a PayPal account - posted an explicit screen grab of the film with a download clip, which apparently doesn’t work.
"Remember how there was supposed to be a ** video and the only proof was a screengrab, now we have the video and it's bulls**t," one user posted.
The hacker released naked pictures purporting to be of over 100 celebrities in August, including Lawrence, Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, Kirsten Dunst, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice and Selena Gomez.
Grande and Justice have said that the images are fakes, although Lawrence’s spokesperson appears to have confirmed their authenticity.
New naked images said to be of the Hunger Games actress were allegedly leaked yesterday (20 September), along with nude shots claiming to be of Kim Kardashian, Gabrielle Union, Emily Ratajkowski, Vanessa Hudgens and Aubrey Plaza, Mary-Kate Olsen and Hope Solo.
A representative for Kardashian declined to comment.
The FBI and Apple are both conducting investigations into the apparent widespread invasion of personal accounts thought to be connected to the iCloud service.
A spokesperson for Lawrence said: "This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
The anonymous hacker has complained about the money received for the images.
"People wanted s*** for free. Sure, I got $120 with my bitcoin address, but when you consider how much time was put into acquiring this stuff (i'm not the hacker, just a collector), and the money (i paid a lot via bitcoin as well to get certain sets when this stuff was being privately traded Friday/Saturday) I really didn't get close to what I was hoping," the person wrote on 4Chan.Reuse content
