Marco Pierre White Jr's mother condemns his controverisal behaviour on Big Brother

'It tears me apart to say it, but I feel there's no hope for him'

She says Marco Pierre White Jr with a sense of entitlement because he was the son of a celebrity

Marco Pierre White Jr's mother has spoken out about the distress of watching her son on Big Brother and has said he has no social boundaries.

Marco Pierre White Jr, the 22-year-old son of chef Marco Pierre White, shocked viewers for asking fellow housemate Laura Carter to 'choke' him while he straddled her on live television. He received a formal warning from the bosses of the show and was evicted from the Big Brother house on Friday night.

Ofcom received over 200 complaints about the behaviour of Big Brother contestants. Many of these were aimed at Marco Pierre White Jr.

His mother, Mati Conejero, who separated from Marco Pierre White in October 2012, has condemned her son’s behaviour.

“I don't want to say bad things about my son, whom I love dearly. But I just don't know what to do to help him. I worry it's too late,” Conejero told The Mail on Sunday.

“The strangling thing was horrific to see, although I do think that Big Brother was irresponsible to have shown it. As his mother, I don't approve of Big Brother showing him as a sexual predator.

“It tears me apart to say it, but I feel there's no hope for him. Watching Big Brother is like watching my son die before my eyes.”

Conejero said her son lacked social boundaries and she was worried about his future. “I broke down when I saw that for how lost he is. I feel so helpless that I can't do anything”.

She also said Marco Pierre White Jr had grown up with a sense of entitlement because he was the son of a celebrity.

“I suppose it's not surprising Mini misbehaved so badly – it set a pattern which continues to this day,” she said. “In a way, it's not really his fault that he doesn't know how to behave properly and knows no social boundaries. He has grown up with a sense of entitlement. He is the son of somebody famous and therefore he is well-known and he is rich and can do what he likes.”

A representative for Marco Pierre White Jr did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Mark Pitchford, Channel Five’s senior publicity manager, declined to comment on the matter.
