Emmanuel Jesus Rangel-Hernandez has been charged with her death and the killing of her boyfriend and another man
A man has been charged with the killing of a former contestant on America's Next Top Model and two other victims.
Emmanuel Jesus Rangel-Hernandez, 19, is facing three counts of first degree murder in connection with 19-year-old Mirjana Puhar and two other people.
They have been named as her boyfriend, Jonathan Cosme Alvarado, 23, and Jusmar Isiah Gonzaga-Garcia, 21, by Access Hollywood (AH).
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police in North Carolina said the victims' bodies were found in a home in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday.
"Preliminary information indicates that the victims and suspect were known to one another and this incident was drug related," CMPD authorities were quoted as saying by AH.
The reality TV show is produced by supermodel Tyra Banks and television producer Ken Mok. The two released a written statement confirming that Puhar appeared on the show last year.
Banks paid tribute to Ms Puhar on Twitter, writing: “The Top Model family is deeply saddened by the tragic news of Mirjana Puhar."
Rangel-Hernandez is currently being detained in police custody.
