Morrissey has spoken out, again, on the evils of people who eat meat.

The ever-controversial singer reportedly sent an email to the Huffington Post in which he claimed: “the only perfect world for animals is a world without humans."

He went on to write: "Humans destroy everything, and for the most part they actively enjoy torturing animals."

"The fact that the slaughterhouse or abattoir exists is the most obvious example of human evil," the 56-year-old singer said. He added that as long as abattoirs exist “we can’t possibly have any hope for human race”.

It is not the first time he has spoken about his perhaps extreme views on animals.

In 2014 he caused a minor backlash after he compared eating meat to paedophilia. “They are both rape, violence, murder," he told fans during a Question and Answer session on fan site True to You.

Earlier this year, he congratulated Ireland on legalising same-sex marriage but couldn’t resist having a dig at the country for continuing to farm.

“Now, Ireland, please abolish fur farms and factory-farming and transportation of live animals, and welcome yourself completely into the 21st century,” he wrote.
