Eighty-seven per cent of all women in Afghanistan suffer domestic abuse. Shogofa (not her real name) was married at 11 and was beaten and abused by her inlaws. At 18, she decided she'd rather die. She set herself alight and suffered 65 per cent burns. Her 18-month-old daughter is with her husband and Shogofa is seeking assistance from ActionAid partner Humanitarian Assistance for the Women and Children of Afghanistan (HAWCA) to get her back.
