Slumdog Millionaire has picked up yet another prize as Freida Pinto was named best actress at the Elle Style Awards.

The triumph for the 24-year-old Indian, who plays the love interest in Danny Boyle's rags-to-riches tale, comes hot on the heels of the film's seven Baftas.

Hollywood hellraiser Mickey Rourke also added to his Bafta success by picking up the best actor gong for his big-screen comeback in The Wrestler.

Former Hole singer Courtney Love was named Woman of the Year, while Sienna Miller flew the flag for Britain, taking the Elle Style Icon gong in recognition of her "unique, fashion forward style".

In the TV categories, Alexa Chung was crowned best star and Gavin And Stacey best series.

Following the success of their album Only By The Night, the Kings of Leon accepted their award for best music via Video link.

Lara Bohinc's "unique use of perspex, leather and metal shells" earned her the Jewellery Designer title.

The glamorous awards ceremony was held last night at London's Big Sky venue.

I do love ELLE and whatever or whoever they support, they are such a credible source that I back what they back. But I'm starting to think that their winners are stereotypical, especially seeing as the majority of them have had major interviews with the magazine. And Freida was not that sensational in Slumdog, I think that ELLE are starting to jump on the bandwaggon a bit.
