David Mitchell and Victoria Coren to marry

Panel show pair David Mitchell and Victoria Coren are engaged to be married.

The couple, who appeared together in 2010 on BBC quiz show The Bubble, announced their engagement with a notice in The Times.

Coren, who presents quiz show Only Connect on BBC4, thanked fans on Twitter today, saying: "I'm very happy."

Mitchell, who found fame as bumbling Mark Corrigan in Channel 4's Peep Show, is a regular on panel shows including QI, Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You.

Coren, the daughter of journalist Alan Coren, is a prominent poker player and often writes and broadcasts about the game.

She has written several books including Once More With Feeling which is about her attempt to make an pornographic film.

The notice in today's Times' register of births, marriages and deaths lists "Mr D.J.S. Mitchell and Miss V.E. Coren" in the Forthcoming Marriages section.
