Sol Campbell took to Twitter to lambast Ed Miliband and the Labour party during the BBC's Question Time Election Leaders' Special.
The former Arsenal defender who has hinted that he is in the running to be the Conservative candidate for London mayor, said that the Labour leader was “all over the place” during the last set-piece television event before the public votes next Thursday.
Despite Miliband’s strong claims to the contrary, Campbell insisted: “Labour will do a deal with SNP make no mistake! Scotland will rule the UK,” adding that “this man is not fit for purpose.”
He later mocked Miliband, when he stumbled off the stage.
He went on to say that “the Labour Party are the Modern day communism party,” adding “Maybe in Cuba not here!”
Since his retirement from football, Campbell has been working with his wife Fiona Barratt-Campbell, heiress to the Barratt Homes empire, on her interior design business.
But the one-time England stalwart, who won 73 caps for his country, said he had “helping out the Conservatives on various issues to do with sport and diversity,” in a recent Shooting Gazette article where he revealed that he had supported the party for around 20-years.
He also powdered his face to “whiten up” for the Operation Black Vote campaign Britain’s ethnic minority communities that not voting will “take the colour out of Britain.”
Despite nailing his political colours to the mast, Campbell said the Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, was “sounding good” during the debate.
His tweets provoked an instant response on the social networking site, including a fair share of abuse, but some chose to engage him in a political debate.
