Jade’s dying wish: A new partner for Jack

Jade Goody told her husband Jack Tweed to look for a new partner as she lay on her deathbed, it has been revealed.

The reality TV star, who died last month aged 27, kept a diary of her battle with cervical cancer and wrote of her love and admiration for Tweed, who nursed her through her final weeks.

In Jade: Forever In My Heart, extracts of which appear in this week’s OK! magazine, Jade wrote of the tender way 21-year-old Tweed looked after her.

In the March 11 entry — 11 days before she died — she wrote: “My husband is so lovely to me.

“He cleans my teeth, he changes my underwear, washes me gently with a flannel.

“The nurse showed him how to lift me gently. I could feel him putting his hands under me so lightly. I feel all bony now, but he didn’t hurt me at all.”

The nurse told Tweed she had “never seen a man look after his wife so beautifully”, Jade wrote.

In an earlier entry Jade wrote that she had told Tweed she did not want him to stay single after her death.

“I told Jack: ‘I want you to meet someone nice’. Jack looked horrified,” she wrote.

“‘I don’t want anyone else’, he said.”

Jade also wrote of her happiness at receiving messages of goodwill from singer Michael Jackson and the Queen.

“Jack’s sister Laura came and read out a letter from the Queen’s secretary: ‘I have been instructed to convey the Queen’s warmest good wishes to Jade at what must be a very difficult time for her and her family,” Jade wrote.

“Laura had written to her asking for her support because she knows how much I love the Queen. ‘The Queen!’ I said. That was so nice.”
