Jennifer Lawrence does a Conchita Wurst and wears a beard for The Tonight Show

The Hunger Games actress was well ahead of the female facial hair trend

Jennifer Lawrence has proved yet again that she’s the Hollywood actress who takes herself the least seriously, this time by donning a fake beard.

The Hunger Games star is set to appear on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show later with long, blonde facial hair, after filming the episode back in April.

Lawrence opted for the unusual look ahead of the apparent new-found trend. Last weekend, Austria’s Conchita Wurst won the Eurovision Song Contest in a gold gown with flowing locks and a heavy beard, sparking transphobic outrage and copycat imitations worldwide.

Lawrence visited The Tonight Show’s set to promote her latest movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past but she is currently located in Paris, shooting for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.

It remains to be seen why she decided on a beard as her main accessory.

The 23-year-old has endeared herself to fans with her fun personality, ever since she tripped up the stairs en route to collect her Best Actress gong at the 2012 Oscars.

Viewers of The Tonight Show this evening can expect to see Lawrence and Fallon take it in turns to stump each other about what items are hidden inside mystery boxes.

“Inside my box is a very curious thing,” Lawrence says. “Which is not the first time I’ve said that…I’m just kidding!”
