A supercar owned by newly-crowned Formula One world champion Jenson Button has been put up for sale for almost £900,000.

The stunning black Bugatti Veyron has just 1,500 miles on the clock and is powered by an eight-litre 16 cylinder engine and four turbochargers.

In its description on the Auto Trader website, it says it comes "complete with all (the) usual refinements for a £1,000,000 supercar" and is fitted with sports seats.

It adds: "Recently serviced by Bugatti, 2 owners, 2nd being a current Formula 1 driver. Will be authenticated. In absolutely stunning condition."

The car was advertised in Auto Trader in August but attracted little interest, but it is hoped that Button's achievement on the grid at the weekend will lure potential buyers.

Capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 2.5 seconds, the Bugatti Veyron features ingenious aerodynamics and can reach a top speed of 253mph.

Priced at £899,995 or nearest offer, it is bound to appeal to petrol-heads with deep pockets looking to gain a piece of Britain's latest F1 world champion.

The Team Brawn star clinched the title following an exciting race on the Interlagos circuit in Brazil on Sunday when he came fifth, giving him enough points to take the crown from fellow Briton Lewis Hamilton.

Yesterday Button, 29, dubbed the Frome Flyer, swapped Sao Paulo for the leaden skies of Kent where he received a hero's welcome at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe.

In front of hundreds of fans, he told a question and answer session he planned to "go crazy" with a few drinks before refocusing his mind back on the track.
