Justin Bieber’s waxwork retired due to excessive groping

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, it appears One Direction’s replica models look set to suffer the same problem

As his career slides into bad boy territory, and the cherubic glow of his former floppy-haired youth is but a speck of ever-fading light on a grimy hip-hop horizon named ‘Bizzle’, Justin Bieber’s waxwork is suffering a similarly humiliating fate.

The figure, displayed at Madame Tussauds in New York, has been groped and fondled so much by lusty Bielibers, that exhibit organisers have been forced to take the dummy off of display.

"With no ropes or barriers to stop them, thousands of fans have had their photographs taken with him since then — but it has taken its toll," a source told the New York Post's Page Six.

In fact, the waxwork has suffered such damage over the years that despite regular maintenance to keep pretend Biebs in check, it "no longer does justice either to the star or to the attraction."

So they've decided to retire the old Bieber model in favour of a new, presumably more grown-up version. Perhaps in orange prison overalls, or pursuing a random video extra with snack-based chat-up lines, á la his new music video for Confidence.

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, a brand new batch of One Direction waxworks have been unveiled.

They showered the group in kisses, cried draped around their shoulders and even bought them edible gifts, despite the fact none of them have actual mouths.
