Peaches Geldof, the daughter of Bob Geldof and a mother of two, has died at the age of 25.

Police were called to her home in Wrotham, Kent, at 1.35pm following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman on Monday afternoon, the BBC reported.

She was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Her death is being treated as "sudden and unexplained" and officers are "working to establish the circumstances around" it, Kent police said in a statement.

Her last tweet was an Instagram photograph of her as a child and her mother, Paula Yates, who died of a drug overdose in 2000, when she was just 11 years old.

She recently spoke about her mother's tragic death and her struggle to come to terms with her passing.

"I remember the day my mother died, and it's still hard to talk about it," she told Elle Magazine. "I just blocked it out. I didn't start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16."

She admitted to having experimented with drugs and alcohol, but insisted she was “never that wild”.

She was married to musician Thomas Cohen and had two small sons, Astala, one, and Phaedra, who will turn one on 24 April.

"My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons," said Mr Cohen in a statement.

"I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever."

In a statement, her father, Bob Geldof, said: “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.

"Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.

"Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken."

The statement was signed Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.

Twitter tributes began to pour in soon after the news of her death emerged on Monday evening.

Singer Ellie Goulding posted on Twitter: "I don't believe it. Even if you think you've got it all figured out , some things can't be explained or understood. Two beautiful children. RIP Peaches."

Phillip Schofield tweeted: "Utterly stunned at the terrible news of the death of Peaches Geldof! The dreadful loss of a really lovely woman."

Daisy Lowe, Irvine Welsh, Tom Fletcher and Denise Van Outen also expressed their condolences to the Geldof family on Twitter.

Born in 1989, Ms Geldof began her career in the entertainment industry as a columnist for Elle Magazine at the age of 15. She left home a year later and landed her own television show OMG! with Peaches Geldof on ITV2 in 2011.

She was previously married to rock musician Max Drummey, but the relationship ended six months later.
