After a gap year travelling with friends, Princess Eugenie has started her first day as a student at Newcastle university.

In 2008, she achieved the highest A-level grades of any Royal, gaining two A grades in English and Art and a B in History of Art.

Eugenie will take a three year Combined Studies degree in English Literature, History of Art and Politics. She is living alongside other students in £96-a-week halls of residence - but unlike them will be followed by royal protection officers.

Eugenie's not the only celebrity to go to university though. We take a look at some stars who decided that they just hadn't had their fill of education.
