Samuel L. Jackson appears to have made an unlikely enemy of the porn industry, after giving free porn video website RedTube his seal of approval.

Jackson named the site when asked at a news conference what he considered to be the one biggest pop culture achievement of the last 50 years.

The remark was no doubt in jest, but that hasn't stopped it from infuriating porn actors who make literally tens of dollars from pay-for porn every year.

Adult actress Catalina Cruz has demanded a boycott of Jackson's films (which probably represents about 85 per cent of all Hollywood output), telling TMZ that Hollywood vehemently opposes piracy when it comes to mainstream movies but seems to think it's OK for people to steal porn content.

"I would gladly send a catalog of adult movies I have directed to Mr. Jackson if he would be so kind as to recant the comment," fellow performer Tanya Tate added to the gossip site.

"I have a stack of porn for him to help him see the error of his ways."

Jackson made the comments at a promotional event for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which (of course) has its own unsanctioned porn spin-off, Captain America XXX.

As the AV Club points out though, Cruz talking about the exploitation of Hollywood is rich, given that she adopted her stage name because she resembles "Penelope Cruz with large breasts."
