Obituary: Air Marshal Sir David William Richardson
Air Marshal Sir David William Richardson, died 13 March, aged 61. Chief Engineer of the RAF 1986-88, his engineering programme - 'the Richardson Studies' - prepared the Services for the 1990s. As Head of RAF's Support Command's Maintenance Groups (1981-83), he played a leading role in the Falklands war modifying and equipping aircraft for operations 8,000 miles away. Air Officer Engineering, Strike Command 1983-86. KBE 1986. Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1987.
