Obituary: Fernando Lopez
Fernando Lopez, politician, died 26 May, aged 89. Vice-president of the Philippines in 1949-53 and again in 1953-65 when he served under Ferdinand Marcos, whose presidential campaign he helped finance. Re- elected in 1969, together with Marcos, but publicly broke with him two years later along with several other prominent figures from the Nacionalista Party.
