Obituary: Lord Mais
Alan Raymond Mais, Lord Mais, businessman, died 28 November, aged 82. Created a life peer in 1967, he was the first peer ever to be elected Lord Mayor of London, 1972-73. Chairman and managing director, Trollope and Colls 1963- 68; President, London Chamber of Commerce, 1975-78; chairman and chief executive, Peachey Property Corporation, 1977-78. Pro-Chancellor, City University 1979-84.
