The agent to the world's model elite?

Yes, from its London office, White's Premier Model Management agency shepherds some of the industry's top names between castings and the catwalk. She set up the agency with her brother in 1981, and represented the likes of Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford. White is now writing a tell-all memoir to be released in April next year. "I would love to share and give people an insight into the industry I love," she said.

What can we expect?

Anyone who watched The Model Agency documentary on Channel 4 last year may well wonder how she'll find the time to pen the book between fag breaks and cackling with her underlings. The show was full of drama. Models were mercilessly dumped after being shunned by the skinny-obsessed fashion world and teenage girls were lost in overseas cities.

So in essence, there are plenty of stories to be told?

The choicest parts will surely be about her relationship with former client Naomi Campbell. Both testified about the night in September 1997 when Campbell was given "blood diamonds" by Liberian war criminal Charles Taylor. Campbell claimed she did not know the diamonds were from Taylor, whereas White was insistent that she did.
