Pierce Brosnan’s five-mansion Malibu complex caught fire on Wednesday night.

According to KABC, the blaze started in the James Bond star’s garage.

It was successfully extinguished by firefighters, the Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed.

News of the fire first surfaced at around 11.30pm local time. A witness who claims he was on the scene of the incident uploaded footage purported to be of the fire onto YouTube shortly afterwards, although the ClipArt-friendly opening screen and blurry shots of what appear to be a burning twig led some to question its authenticity:

Brosnan, 61, is best known for his role as 007 in the movie franchise.

He has since starred in “November Man” and “The Ghost Writer”.

He is also solely responsible for one of the worst Irish accents in movie history – despite being Irish:

A spokesperson for Brosnan is yet to comment on the incident.
