Jenny Seagrove, 49, will present 'Wildlife Detectives' on Sky Travel at 10pm from Tuesday.

If I weren't talking to you right now I'd be...

Walking my springer spaniel and labrador-dobermann cross.

A phrase I use far too often is...

"I'll do it tomorrow." Sadly.

I wish people would take more notice of...

Other people. An old lady friend of mine was queuing for the bus and about 40 people shoved in front of her.

The most surprising thing that ever happened to me was...

My partner, Bill Kenwright, was given an award at the Variety Club. He said it all happened because of Jenny. I have to say my success has happened through being with him, so I thank him in return.

A common misperception of me is...

That I'm glamorous. I'm really a bag lady ... but I scrub up well.

I'm not a politician but...

I'd get rid of all wild animals in circuses and get rid of all zoos. And animal testing.

I'm good at...

Hopefully, acting.

But I'm very bad at...

Confronting people.

The ideal night out is...

With friends and Bill and my dogs, in the villa we rent in the south of France under the stars, mid-summer, eating al fresco.

You know me as an actor, but in a truer life I'd have been an...

Eco-warrior. I'd have done something for the natural kingdom.

The best age to be is...

Right now: that's all you've got.

In a nutshell, my philosophy is:

Be thoughtful, be kind - to all living things.
