Skye Edwards, 34, voice of the trip-hop band Morcheeba, released her first solo album "Mind How You Go" in October and her second is on the way. She is performing for the Cancer Research UK Sound and Vision event at Abbey Road Studios, London, on Monday

In the studio with two of the live band. We are writing some new songs, sat on some cushions with the radiator blaring because it's freezing in this studio in Camden.

A phrase I use far too often...

"Yeah, definitely."

I wish people would take more notice of...

Environmental issues.

The most surprising thing that happened to me was...

When one of my songs was played on a TV show called Grey's Anatomy. Or when I was proposed to. He took me on a trip up to Scotland with his family, it happened then.

A common misperception of me is...

That I'm moody. For the pictures taken of Morcheeba, they were like, "don't smile, look moody".

I am not a politician but...

If I was, I would pay doctors and nurses a lot more money.

I'm good at...

Singing. And sewing. I make a lot of the clothes I wear to perform in.

I'm very bad at...

Ironing.

In moments of weakness, I...

Have a little whisky.

You know me as a singer but in truer life I'd have been...

I did a degree at the London College of Fashion, so I might have been a fashion designer, if I'd have been any good.

The best age to be is...

34. I still feel young but have a bit of experience and still a whole life ahead. I've achieved quite a lot at my age.
