Rihanna has unsurprisingly been named the world’s Most Desirable Woman at the 2014 Guys Choice Awards – and this time, her nipples were fully covered.
However, it’s doubtful that her more demure ensemble was a reaction to backlash over her audacious CFDAs ‘invisible’ dress, which left the majority of the media shocked and outraged.
She challenged comedian Kevin Hart, who somewhat boorishly asked, “How many men are mad that she didn't come naked?”, as he presented the singer with the award in Los Angeles on Saturday 7 June.
Each honouree is, oddly, given a pair of ‘mantlers’ – arguably one of the least valuable prizes in the celebrity sphere.
“I knew pervs like you would be here at the Guys Choice Awards,” said to Hart.
“Well, I mean, thank you for voting me for this at 26 because we all know it goes downhill from here. But this is a fun award, I appreciate it. Shout out to all the real men out there.”
The lighthearted awards celebrate “guydom” in its many forms and also honoured Sandra Bullock who gallantly accepted the Decade of Hotness from three of her former leading men, Hugh Grant, Keanu Reeves and Matthew McConaughey.
Rihanna’s much-publicised CFDAs dress provoked a storm last week, after she wore a completely sheer outfit, accessorised with a sparkling turban, gloves and white fur stole in the style of a Twenties film star. She covered her modesty with a nude-coloured thing, nipples defiantly on show, prompting fierce backlash - not that she was bothered, of course.
“Do my tits bother you?” she asked one reporter who questioned her look. “Girl, they're covered in Swarovski crystals!”
