The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), accepts a stable unit erected by the Prison Service for use by the Wakefield RDA Driving Group, and inaugurates the Driving "Show on the Go" at HMP New Hall, Dial Wood, Flockton, West Yorkshire; visits Disabled People's Electronic Village Hall and Council Information Centre, Town Hall Way, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire; as President, British Knitting Clothing and Export Council, visits WW Group Ltd, Caressa House, Cemetery Road, Pudsey, West Yorkshire; opens the Sixth Form Study Centre at Bircotes and Harworth Community School, Harworth, South Yorkshire; and visits Harworth Colliery. The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, opens the boathouse and views the new launch vehicle at Macduff Lifeboat Station, Banffshire.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
