Royal Engagements

The Duke of York visits the Defence Helicopter Flying School at RAF Shawbury, Shrewsbury. Prince Edward attends a ball at the Park Lane Hotel, London W1, hosted by the Turkish Ambassador, the Turco-British Chamber of Commerce and the Anglo-Turkish Society to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. The Princess Royal, President of Patrons, Crime Concern, chairs a Reducing Neighbourhood Crime seminar at the Village Hotel, Headingley, Leeds, West Yorkshire; as Patron, Sense, the National Deafblind and Rubella Association, attends a Corporate Lunch at Wragge and Company, Birmingham; and, as President, British Olympic Association, attends the Athens 2004 Olympic Business Opportunities reception "The Potential for Britain" at Lancaster House, London SW1. The Duke of Gloucester visits Moggerhanger House, Moggerhanger, Bedfordshire; opens new buildings at Wootton Upper School, Wootton, Bedfordshire; and, as Patron, the Japan Society, attends a reception for Council sponsors and benefactors at 33 King William Street, London EC4. The Duke of Kent, President of the Council, King Edward VII's Hospital for Officers, presides over a Council Meeting at Beaumont Street, London W1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion, The Duke of Wellington's Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
