The Queen holds an Investiture; and, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, attends a dinner at the Royal Society of Arts to mark the 40th Anniversary of her becoming Patron, and his becoming President, of the Society. The Prince of Wales, Chancellor, University of Wales, officiates at the Degree Ceremony at UCW Aberystwyth, Dyfed; as Patron, the Almshouse Association, visits Howyer's Almshouses, Ludlow, Shropshire; and visits a Waste Refineries Digester, Eaton, Shropshire. Prince Edward, Trustee, attends the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Garden Party, Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Kent, Colonel, Scots Guards, attends a Dinner at St James's Palace. The Duchess of Kent visits the Royal Naval School of Marine Engineering, HMS Sultan, Gosport, Hampshire; and, as Patron, attends the Yehudi Menuhin School's 30th Anniversary Concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London SE1. Princess Alexandra, Patron, attends the Annual Day of the Royal School, London NW3. Prince Michael of Kent, President, Royal Patriotic Fund Corporation, chairs the Council Meeting at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London SW3.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Scots Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Grenadier Guards.
