The Duchess of Gloucester opens the Bennion Centre and the Bradgate Mental Health Unit at Glenfield, Leicester, the Royal Leicestershire, Rutland and Wycliffe Society for the Blind's Welcome Home Project, Eyres Monsell, Leicestershire, and the Hinckley and District Museum, Hinckley, Leicestershire; and as Patron, National Association of Gifted Children, attends a dinner to mark the association's 30th anniversary at Hanover International Hotel, Hinckley. The Duke of Kent visits the Welsh Council for Voluntary Action, Llys Ifor, Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan, Ocean Technical Glass Ltd, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff, and Techniquest Science Discovery Centre, Cardiff Bay; and as Grand Master, the United Grand Lodge of England, attends a dinner at Masonic Hall, Cardiff.

Changing the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Scots Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Grenadier Guards.
