Shia LaBeouf has reportedly been injured on the set of American Honey during filming for a scene where his character puts his head through a glass window.

The Nymphomaniac actor was taken to hospital in North Dakota on Wednesday evening and treated for a head injury and cut to his hand after the stunt went wrong, according to a report by TMZ.

His injuries required 20 stitches and 13 staples. He was discharged from hospital shortly after receiving treatment.

"Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film, American Honey,” a spokesperson for LaBeouf told The Independent.

"As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head.”
