The wife of Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes has been charged with “disorderly conduct” after allegedly kicking and head-butting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Miko Grimes was initially stopped by police for attempting to cross a police barricade which was used for crowd control purposes ahead of the Dolphins game against the Buffalo Bills.

When she reportedly ignored “several loud verbal warnings” to stop, police grabbed her by the arm, only for her to wrestle free and start shouting.

According to a report obtained by The Sun-Sentinel, Grimes allegedly resisted several attempts by police officers to subdue her and flailed her arms and legs in an attempt to get free. Once handcuffed, she allegedly jerked her head back and headbutted an officer.

NBC sports anchor Adam Kuperstein posted a video to Twitter showing Grimes being arrested, and in a series of tweets described how the incident seemingly escalated, with Grimes reportedly

even being threatened with a taser.

Grimes hosts a show on sports radio station 560-WQAM and is regularly critical of the NFL on Twitter. Earlier this year she accused them of not caring about domestic violence.

Her husband was only made aware of the incident following the game, and a spokesman for the Dolphins said they would not be issuing a statement regarding the incident.
