Mrs Dorothy Joyce, of Bentley, Hampshire, left estate valued at pounds 3,146,297 net. After leaving pounds 12,000 and one-third of the residue to personal legatees, she left one-sixth of the residue each to Ratcliffe Charitable Trust and the Trustees of a 1986 Settlement; and one-sixth equally between St Laurence's Church, Alton (with St Peter's Church, Beech), St Nicholas Church, West Worldham (with Hartley Mauditt Church, East Worldham), the Abbey Seamen's Friendly Society, Alton, John Groom's Association, the Spitalfields Crypt Trust, London and the Conservative and Unionist Agents Superannuation Fund.

Violet Mabel Seeby, of Sandhurst, Berkshire, left estate valued at pounds 2,139,848 net. She left pounds 10,000 to the RNIB, pounds 5,000 each to Branksome Hill Junior School, College Town, for the purchase of books and equipment, and the RSPCA; pounds 170,000, her home and effects and four-sevenths of the residue to personal legatees; and pounds 10,000 and one-seventh each to Frimley Park Hospital, Frimley, Surrey, the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, and the Royal Star and Garter Home, Richmond.

Mr William Hugh Peddell, of Brockham, Surrey, left estate valued at pounds 1,445,339 net. He left bequests of effects and 85 per cent of the residue to personal legatees, and four per cent of the residue each to Christchurch, Brockham, the RSPCA, for the Ark Kennels, and the Arthritis and Rheumatism Council, and three per cent of the residue to the Friends of Headley Court, Cobham.
